Looks like Valve is planning to make trade confirmations mandatory. Remains to be seen how this would affect dispenser.

What about Canceling or Declining Trade Offers? What will this do to both users? Anybody have some solid info?

Don't cancel any hold :) I cancel it and have 7 days trade ban :P

both ways or only u?

Just I had put item. not both. Btw I setup mobile thing yesterday. Maybe this is reason.

i mean only u have trade ban now or your partner too?

And, are the items go back to you or hold anyway ?

Yes, items came back.

Tested few things:
* Account can receive items instantly without steam mobile auth enabled (one sided trade, where one only receives)
* Account can NOT send items instantly with only steam mobile auth enabled - trade confirmations setting also needs to be enabled. So instant trade = steam mobile auth + manual confirm with mobile phone. When confirmations are disabled, trades are put on hold.

You can safely cancel, decline orders in progress. Hold happens after trade is completed (accept+confirm). So cancelling hold is kind a like reverting existing completed trade, and thats why you get cooldown.

One really stupid thing is that person who only receives something from someone who dont have mobile auth + mobile confirms also can hit button "cancel outstanding trades". Seems kind a stupid, because that person is not loosing anything, why the button?

Made test offer for my friend. He hasn't mob auth, but I have. And also I disabled email confirmation. As result - offer was sent instantly. And I canceled it as usual offline trade.

Have a trade on hold which created by my partner without my will. I even haven't seen this offer berfore it has come to hold. But I still can get 7 days ban if cancel it. What you said about "reverting existing completed trade" ? =)

P.S. All I mean I can hold ALL your public inventory if I have link to trade with you or I'm your friend. And only way you can cancel it - is get trade ban for 7 days

Not true. You cancel incoming spam trades as before. Lock only would happen if you accepted those spam trades and later used new revert ("cancel all outstanding trades") feature to undo them.

So in summary: If I get a Trade Offer and I decline that and I have steam mobile auth I won't go for a 7 day cooldown? It will just be a regular Declined Trade Offer?

The only way to get 7 days ban is press "cancel all outstanding trades". You can free use all other buttons =)

Yep. I forgot I accepted previous described offer myself, cause didn't know system already started work.

Yep, now I'm sure for it at 100%

Thanks for the info. Because it would be awful that with a decline offer you get a 7 day trade cooldown. Everybody would troll with that.

Yeah this 7 days cooldown after cancel all outstanding trades like me :P

thanks information, also can't u send gift by present?
