We are pleased to release our new addition to Dispenser.tf - Market.

Here is a short FAQ about the new site, hopefully it will answer most commonly asked questions.

1. What is the difference between Dispenser.tf market and the Steam's community market?

Here is a few:

a. Our base credit is "Key" and "Bitcoin".
b. We feature trading between Bitcoin, Steam gifts (including untradable ones) and key interchanging.
c. Our fee is much lower than Steam market's, which should result in lowered item price.
d. We do not have the design flaw that the final exchange price only follows the user's input price, but ignoring if there are better price orders on the book.

2. Why make a market system at all?

We have been criticized for being too buyer unfriendly for having a poor search system and a somewhat complicated interface. The old system could not be further improved due to technical difficulties. For example, we could sort items by price as we did not have a common currency. We hope a market system can solve many of these problems and at the same time adds useful features. Also, there is a need to change the business model so that the website is actually self-sustainable and rewarding for increasing the amount of users. In our old model, more people using the website gives us no real benefit but paying more for the maintenance.

3. What will happen to the old system?

The old system will be kept for now. If you prefer the old style, you still can create those 'tradition trades'. However, we will no longer list these trades under the main page and search also won't support it. As a seller, that means you will have to send out your trade links directly to your buyers. The old system won't be developed much anymore. It's only kept to waive fee for sellers who have their own customers base and do not rely on the site to get exposure.

4. What is the new fee system?

We will be charging fee to support the long-term development of the site. It is a progressive structure that the fee percent is based on the volume traded in 30 days.

June is going to be the public beta testing period. We will not be taking any fees until July 13 BTC issue is resolved. But the trade volume you have made in this period will still be counted, which means your fee could be as low as 0.25% once we start taking fee.

5. Are there any other updates to the site?

In addition to the market, we have made two very important updates to fix certain important problems.

a. CS:GO trading no longer uses Valve's abandoned API. There should be no longer any downtime for CS:GO trading and at the same time we have added skin, exteriors and various item info to all CS:GO items.

b. Gem, trading cards and other community items now will be distributed via centralized bots, to bypass a limitation added by Valve recently that disabled limited accounts (including our bots) for trading these items. You may now notice trade offers coming from non-shop bots when you exchange these items.

c. Lots of bug fixes and an interface change, mainly to adapt to the market system.

6. So, how should I get started?

As a buyer, the only real change about purchasing item is that there is one more step involved: depositing keys for credit. After you have convert your keys to credit, you will search and buy your items just like how you used to, in a slightly different interface. But if you have experience in the Steam market or other similar markets, our market should not be difficult to use at all. It is like Steam market with keys and Bitcoin as currency. Please read the FAQ if you need some help.

As a seller, making orders may be more troublesome than before if you have many different types of items, due to the limitation that you can only update one market at a time. But now you have more options for your trades, for example selling a gift for 6.05 keys, or re-selling gifts by putting ask and bid orders in the same market etc. We will continue to improve the interface so that handling a lot of gifts could be easier. Before creating orders, please make sure you are in the correct market (key/BTC). Please also remember the price is in TF2 keys.

NOTE: If you have Steam community items prior to the update, please re-deposit them all. We need to re-index these items.

More work for you Joto? Yes I believe you, but this credit system just ruined that "Dispenser" site we all knew. Even with the old system people were strugling to buy ( at least the not so intelligent ones ), but this Update ruined everything. I can't link my Store URL to sites like Tf2outpost so the "Buyer" can check out everything in my Shop NO NO, i must link every trade separate. - Lots of people were searching for games to Buy directly on Dispenser, like those reselling traders, bulk buyers and other individual people who checked out Dispenser or they just started out. The ONLY BAD thing with the old System was Lag as Joto said and CS:GO API was Not independent. Everything else was just PERFECT. I would Pay monthly/yearly Subscription like on Tf2outpost for Dispenser OLD SYSTEM! And I think lots of Sellers agree with me too. So everyone makes money. You could make Dispenser Market separate with the Old System and everyone would be happy. I make most of my profits because Dispenser's Old System, after this Update I barely had a few Sales, and people are adding me on Steam confused about the site even MORE! I know it's a lot of work with the old system and you are working hard Joto, but this ruined everything. I hate todays digital age with "credit" system everywhere. Thanks, RIP Dispenser.

This just this.

Im bought one key with BTC, and never get the key

Type: BID
ID: 8
Item: Mann Co. Supply Crate Key - Bitcoin
Price: 0.0089 BTC
Shop: 7 Metroid - tf2s.net's Item Shop
Quantity: 1

Why is base currency TF2 key? most of traders are using Special cs:go keys.
Cant deposit CS:Go keys?

Thanks for the comment, here is a list of things we will do:

1. Remove buyer fee (irrelevant right now since there is no fee)
2. Will add bid orders on other currency items to facilitate exchange
3. Change the shop interface to show the old trades

I just wanted independent csgo api + loading pictures of games + expanded wishlist options + cheapest price on top , new system is confusing , let the items (or whatever they sell here) sellers use credit system not game buyers/sellers

Thanks for the comment, here is a list of things we will do:

1. Remove buyer fee (irrelevant right now since there is no fee)
2. Accept CS:GO keys and special keys at an increased key credit price ~1.06 for case keys and ~1.08 for special keys
3. Change the shop interface to show the old trades

2. how to deposit CS:GO keys? key credit ~ only tf2keys can...

This new system sucks. Why did i pay 50$ for this? This is even more complicated for me, how could it be esier for new users?

Absolutely HATED this new system. I understand you need to make a bit more money out of this site, and if that's the case, charge us a monthly subscription like many other sites. As it is, I will start looking for alternatives to Dispenser.tf.

Plus, the whole interface is extremely confusing as it is. As a seller, and an 2 years old user of this site, I had a really hard time understanding how to find stuff in here and how to charge/pay for it. Can't really see how this is, in any way, more buyer friendly.

Hi Joto,

I absolutely loved the old Dispenser site, but can't stand the new one as it's confusing and unfair to your current Premium Users. I understand you want to increase your profit margins so here is my proposal to keep everyone happy:

(1) All Premium Users that paid $50.00 will be required to use the old interface with unlisted games on the main page\search so we're not in competition with your new system.
(2) No Premium Users or their clients pay fees since we're unlisted and self promote our shops.
(3) Any listings on the new system will require a fee to be paid.

It is confusing because most things are not WAD. I have been reporting 9-10 bugs to Cara and a lot of things that are not working like the test environment and he is working hard to improve them. So give him some time.

Now a lot of people said they would be happily with a subscription model instead. If we really change to a subscription model then people would start asking why you cannot think of some other ways to generate profit. It's like that every single time when there is a change.

It is going to be like this. No fee if you use if the old way. You can continue to get exposure in Outpost and other website. So basically your point 1-3 are what is happening right now. And if possible we will try to give the old trades some exposure on the site, too.

How can something that isn't WAD be more buyer friendly than the old system thats was as close to WAD as possible?

Maybe you're right. But maybe you're not.

I find it extremely frustrating that you didn't gave us, as a community, your community, a chance to chime in on the issue before implementing such drastic changes. A message asking for feedback, a simple poll could have given you a better feel of your own community.

I love this site, Joto. And I certainly appreciate and recognize all your hard work here. But, as it is, I must agree with many of the users here that says that if feels as if you're punishing your VIP sellers with this new system.

But in the end, it's your site, so it's your prerogative. I'm just sad to see things going this way.

Rather negative change, it is quite unfair for VIP users, and for those who bought subscription just recently, I guess you should open some margin of refunds for users bought it in relative short time, because one of premium features was auto bump, which is sadly lost. I can't say, I am very happy about this, honestly.

On the other hand, I understand you had some work in it and initial reaction is always this way. Time shall tell how this site develops. It is good thing that you're on direct contact with your sellers ;) I

you need to update your premium account section, and your bitcoin integrity too, lots of changes thats not reflected there

please give me the old system.. its more faster and convenience..
