We are pleased to release our new addition to Dispenser.tf - Market.

Here is a short FAQ about the new site, hopefully it will answer most commonly asked questions.

1. What is the difference between Dispenser.tf market and the Steam's community market?

Here is a few:

a. Our base credit is "Key" and "Bitcoin".
b. We feature trading between Bitcoin, Steam gifts (including untradable ones) and key interchanging.
c. Our fee is much lower than Steam market's, which should result in lowered item price.
d. We do not have the design flaw that the final exchange price only follows the user's input price, but ignoring if there are better price orders on the book.

2. Why make a market system at all?

We have been criticized for being too buyer unfriendly for having a poor search system and a somewhat complicated interface. The old system could not be further improved due to technical difficulties. For example, we could sort items by price as we did not have a common currency. We hope a market system can solve many of these problems and at the same time adds useful features. Also, there is a need to change the business model so that the website is actually self-sustainable and rewarding for increasing the amount of users. In our old model, more people using the website gives us no real benefit but paying more for the maintenance.

3. What will happen to the old system?

The old system will be kept for now. If you prefer the old style, you still can create those 'tradition trades'. However, we will no longer list these trades under the main page and search also won't support it. As a seller, that means you will have to send out your trade links directly to your buyers. The old system won't be developed much anymore. It's only kept to waive fee for sellers who have their own customers base and do not rely on the site to get exposure.

4. What is the new fee system?

We will be charging fee to support the long-term development of the site. It is a progressive structure that the fee percent is based on the volume traded in 30 days.

June is going to be the public beta testing period. We will not be taking any fees until July 13 BTC issue is resolved. But the trade volume you have made in this period will still be counted, which means your fee could be as low as 0.25% once we start taking fee.

5. Are there any other updates to the site?

In addition to the market, we have made two very important updates to fix certain important problems.

a. CS:GO trading no longer uses Valve's abandoned API. There should be no longer any downtime for CS:GO trading and at the same time we have added skin, exteriors and various item info to all CS:GO items.

b. Gem, trading cards and other community items now will be distributed via centralized bots, to bypass a limitation added by Valve recently that disabled limited accounts (including our bots) for trading these items. You may now notice trade offers coming from non-shop bots when you exchange these items.

c. Lots of bug fixes and an interface change, mainly to adapt to the market system.

6. So, how should I get started?

As a buyer, the only real change about purchasing item is that there is one more step involved: depositing keys for credit. After you have convert your keys to credit, you will search and buy your items just like how you used to, in a slightly different interface. But if you have experience in the Steam market or other similar markets, our market should not be difficult to use at all. It is like Steam market with keys and Bitcoin as currency. Please read the FAQ if you need some help.

As a seller, making orders may be more troublesome than before if you have many different types of items, due to the limitation that you can only update one market at a time. But now you have more options for your trades, for example selling a gift for 6.05 keys, or re-selling gifts by putting ask and bid orders in the same market etc. We will continue to improve the interface so that handling a lot of gifts could be easier. Before creating orders, please make sure you are in the correct market (key/BTC). Please also remember the price is in TF2 keys.

NOTE: If you have Steam community items prior to the update, please re-deposit them all. We need to re-index these items.

I want to quote Angry Joe for you Joto: " You Done Fucked it UP! " . Joto you really think you will make more profit/money with this new Market System? - You are completely WRONG! Didn't even passed 2 days and a lot of VIP members, big sellers/traders are complaining and I'm taking part in this too. You want to make good profit? I will list a few things that make people, buyers/sellers and everyone else happy:
- Bring back the OLD SYSTEM!
- Make a Monthly Subscription with a fair price like TF2Outpost has it. ( If we can pay it for more months/year the better ).
- Keep the more Slots in Shop = Pay Extra/Donate or whatever you call it.
- CS:GO API is independent and that is GREAT!
- If you can try to make a better search for Trades/Shops or if it's cheaper or something like this.
DONE.
With these things you would make monthly Subscription money, extra donations for more Slots in VIP Shops and normal donations too because I know I would donate and pay the Subscription for a whole year if you bring back the OLD SYSTEM and keep these improvements I listed in this reply. I know and I think lots of Sellers and Traders on this site and even the Buyers would agree with my Suggestion. Because if the Old System won't be back then this site is dead. Big Sellers will leave, people won't pay anymore for anything. The Community speaks itself and if Joto is smart he will bring back the old system and try to improve that or else I can only say and I think I speak for others too: R.I.P Dispenser.

"Can any of you think from the buyer's perspective? Please tell me why the lowest price should not sell before the others, just because the old site interface and search were broken?"

The old sytem allows sellers to present themselves - by addind some info on their shop pages, by customizing the shop / offer page, etc. Although You traded with bot You had the feeling that there is some specific bound with trader and now ... You don't even look from who You buying stuff. For most buyers it's perfect but please have in mind that the sellers are ones which generate income for Your page so in 1st place You should hear them. Just saying.

If person is charging his key credit with a bit more expensive cs keys, but seller will always get cheaper tf keys, don't you think that's already some "fee" besides the ones you going to implement? I feel quite fine with new market system but i would like sometimes to get cs keys too or at least not to pay any trade fee, one of that :P

P.S. When people start to sell for 1.99 key credit it becomes ridiculous. What buyer gona do with his 0.01, he will have to buy like hundreds more to get his extra key. Are such sellers really ready that they never will be able to withdraw a full amounts of keys?

I actually like this system, thanks Joto. The key credit makes it easier for us sellers to give better prices, like .9 keys. I also feel like the way the prices are sorted from cheapest to more expensive, makes it better for both the buyer and the seller; the seller is rewarded for good prices, and the old system was more based on shop popularity and advertisement. I love this new system, and I think its a great addition to the trading community.

My only thing I'm not that big a fan of, is the fact that all keys (correct me if I'm wrong) are counted as 1 key credit, even special CSGO keys which are worth quite a bit more than the other keys. IMO there should be 2 types of key credit; 1 for TF2 keys + Vanilla CSGO and 1 for Special CSGO.

Thanks for the update!

there are some gifts wrong restriction tagged and my GTA5 (tier 2) gift was named "Unknown package (58505)"
please fix

This. Wholehearted support this statement. The site is great and all. But if it wasn't for the sellers constantly puting the dispenser.tf links up and giving exposure to this site as well as guaranteeing the legitimacy of this service, I'm not sure it would be where it is right now.

Well the thing about subscription is we made a very bad mistake for selling life-time VIP, which turns out to be that our life are actually quite limited to support people lifetime.

Outpost.tf2 did the same' 'mistake' a couple of years ago. They eventually backpedelled and adopted the more sustainable subscription fee model while giving their, at the time, VIP like donators, 6 months to 12 months worth of subscription. Of course there was a bit of bitching about it at the time, but the more reasonable sellers understood their motives and where happy to support their service. The biggest complaint at the time was their refusal to accept game items as payment, but other than that, the community adapted to the new model and continue to grow until this day.

Agreed! And we can't even have our old system. I really don't care about the Market, make both available and separate so everyone is happy with their own stuff going on. At least we payed and we are paying for it. Why wouldn't be good that both system are on Dispenser? This would be good. And because of the CS:GO API fix now it won't have problems with CS:GO Keys 90% of the time.

As of now no one charged with CS:GO keys at all. I believe people are smart and they won't charge with CS:GO keys, and they will put the keys on market to increase liquidity, which will be good for everyone.

Buy BTC maybe.

I cannot even understand this complain because we HAVE both systems going on right now.

Yoto, how about those changes:
* showing bots rep and popularity in market search results (to avoid scammers who sell cheap)
* treating tod as 0.4key for "linked" trades?
* allowing trade directly with bot when its possible (integer number of keys, +tods (0.4 or 0.8))

I personally think this system is fine, but i dont like that users can do only on-site purchases.
Also i dont like that gift can sit in my bots inventory even after its sold, but i have no ideas how you could solve this.

1. Sure.
2. Can't do that unless we buy ToD for a fixed rate, which we think is a bad idea.
3. Probably not. One of the reason to change to a market system was to write item change to a ledger to increase speed.

It will only sit until the buyer receives it? Or you are reporting a bug that items are not sent after sold?

Yes, that was what I meant. If that goes being fixed, I'm happy.

Just a thought about the subscriptions: Consier having donation + vip system - For example - limit ammount of trades you can have open unless you become premium (= subscription with small fee) - around 1-2-3 keys/month works for sites like this.+ inventory space for donations the same way as it is now. That way you get constant money supply, not like it was now (once pay - for ever costs for bots, site etc.) . Like backpack.tf - premium for double listings, donate for extra listings (being doubled by premium). Just a thought.

Please guys, dont hate the new system, they are maybe big bugs now, but its a big update here.. We need to help him to make the new system good and better then other site-s.

I think the new system have more + then -

So, i am buyer and seller, and im happy because with the new system we can buy the cheapest game from this site, and if you are seller .. yea sellers are not realy happy xD

There was a transaction where user bought Remember Me game (iirc), i had keys in my credit, but gift sitted in inventory for like 20minutes.
What happens if user declines tradeoffer? He gets his credit back? I am too lazy to test it myself :D

Not completely, Buyers can't see my whole Dispenser Shop with my Shop URL, I must provide direct trade links all the time. People can't search Trades/Shops on Dispenser anymore, so we have like barely the Old System running on this site. Why is restricted to check/see the whole Dispenser Shop and ALL the Trades in it with the Shop URL?
