We are pleased to release our new addition to Dispenser.tf - Market.

Here is a short FAQ about the new site, hopefully it will answer most commonly asked questions.

1. What is the difference between Dispenser.tf market and the Steam's community market?

Here is a few:

a. Our base credit is "Key" and "Bitcoin".
b. We feature trading between Bitcoin, Steam gifts (including untradable ones) and key interchanging.
c. Our fee is much lower than Steam market's, which should result in lowered item price.
d. We do not have the design flaw that the final exchange price only follows the user's input price, but ignoring if there are better price orders on the book.

2. Why make a market system at all?

We have been criticized for being too buyer unfriendly for having a poor search system and a somewhat complicated interface. The old system could not be further improved due to technical difficulties. For example, we could sort items by price as we did not have a common currency. We hope a market system can solve many of these problems and at the same time adds useful features. Also, there is a need to change the business model so that the website is actually self-sustainable and rewarding for increasing the amount of users. In our old model, more people using the website gives us no real benefit but paying more for the maintenance.

3. What will happen to the old system?

The old system will be kept for now. If you prefer the old style, you still can create those 'tradition trades'. However, we will no longer list these trades under the main page and search also won't support it. As a seller, that means you will have to send out your trade links directly to your buyers. The old system won't be developed much anymore. It's only kept to waive fee for sellers who have their own customers base and do not rely on the site to get exposure.

4. What is the new fee system?

We will be charging fee to support the long-term development of the site. It is a progressive structure that the fee percent is based on the volume traded in 30 days.

June is going to be the public beta testing period. We will not be taking any fees until July 13 BTC issue is resolved. But the trade volume you have made in this period will still be counted, which means your fee could be as low as 0.25% once we start taking fee.

5. Are there any other updates to the site?

In addition to the market, we have made two very important updates to fix certain important problems.

a. CS:GO trading no longer uses Valve's abandoned API. There should be no longer any downtime for CS:GO trading and at the same time we have added skin, exteriors and various item info to all CS:GO items.

b. Gem, trading cards and other community items now will be distributed via centralized bots, to bypass a limitation added by Valve recently that disabled limited accounts (including our bots) for trading these items. You may now notice trade offers coming from non-shop bots when you exchange these items.

c. Lots of bug fixes and an interface change, mainly to adapt to the market system.

6. So, how should I get started?

As a buyer, the only real change about purchasing item is that there is one more step involved: depositing keys for credit. After you have convert your keys to credit, you will search and buy your items just like how you used to, in a slightly different interface. But if you have experience in the Steam market or other similar markets, our market should not be difficult to use at all. It is like Steam market with keys and Bitcoin as currency. Please read the FAQ if you need some help.

As a seller, making orders may be more troublesome than before if you have many different types of items, due to the limitation that you can only update one market at a time. But now you have more options for your trades, for example selling a gift for 6.05 keys, or re-selling gifts by putting ask and bid orders in the same market etc. We will continue to improve the interface so that handling a lot of gifts could be easier. Before creating orders, please make sure you are in the correct market (key/BTC). Please also remember the price is in TF2 keys.

NOTE: If you have Steam community items prior to the update, please re-deposit them all. We need to re-index these items.

It would also be valuable to make such system as SCM, where selling order is random to make less discouraging to add new items for the listing have like 100 entries so anyone could actually sell on random basis within same price.

b0Ni, can i put my games on trade and they come on the market ? Or i need to put on market and trade ?
Because i see some of my games on market, but i dont put it ..

If your trades have TF2 keys as wishlist if will be shown on the market too. There is no negative effect as it only increases your shop's exposure.

A search for both systems would be better for the site. So everyone can choose what they want to use.

There is no point because the old search system could not be improved or fixed. There basically are two major problems:

1. There is no way to sort price.

2. The trade result always contains some useless result because either A) Sellers put hundred of different items to a pool trade and B) Placeholder or troll trades.

The searching was not useful but only needed because there was no better alternatives. I believe most people's sales come from TF2Outpost but not the search here. That is why a reform on the search is needed in our opinion.

You could just charge a monthly fee from the people who want their results to be shown on the old search. I would gladly pay $10 per month for that. I can't see any downsides for this, as you can still get your percentage from the market.

Sorting by price in no needed - it's good option for buyers but as You probably noticed not for most sellers (and sellers are those who generate any profit). Please understand that some people want to have a choice what they want as payment.
If there would be possibility to change : "hundred of different items" to some limit of different items in trade (for example 2 - 3 different items but no limit for number of them) coz I agree that too many different items in one trade = mess.
Only improvement that old search system needs is to fix autobump. So if anyone will type in search bar name of some item he will see offer sorted by time when recently owner of shop bumped his offer (autobump for subscribers). And I think that 5$ would be a good price per month ;)

Thank you.

I have other question for joto, if i put some game for x keys and x refs, can we have some 4th option to put x,x keys ?
Example, i have put game for 2 keys and 9 refs, can we have some 4th option to put 2,5k keys ? So the trade from the old style can be put on market. The 4th option can be invisible for buyers, its just for market.

Some other question for credit, just see the pic: http://prntscr.com/7i18vz
We just need one more credit for csgo keys, its this possible ?

yeah, but like min 0.25-0.5 lower/higher would be better

0,25 are good, +1

I just want to say something more here, i think its good to have crossing with 0,25 for games.
But for selling keys on market its too much, so maybe only for keys will be good to have min 0,1 +/-
So we can sell csgo keys for 1,1 1,2 1,3 tf2, or extremely if we need, with 0,05.

Thank you for correcting the situation and letting Premium Users such as myself continue to use the old system at no fee. This is perfect. I couldn't be more happy.

I realize the primary draw of this site is game trading, but I have a concern and question:

* If the minimum deposit is 1 key, I see that turning off any buyer who is looking to buy small time stuff. I mean, a key is around 20 ref now. That's an utterly massive deposit just to buy small time stuff (from the TF2 perspective). Some may not mind it if they expect to do a lot of repeat business here, but others who just want to buy one small thing, or aren't sure if they will come back, may choose to shop elsewhere.

Bottom line, this runs the risk of turning away small time and infrequent buyers who don't want to spend anymore than they have to, including those wanting to buy games priced at 1-2 refs. I see that you are still going to allow hard links to the old shop for now, but losing the search engine to the old system is bound to hurt.

Question: How will this system allow untradable games to be traded? Is there any risk of Steam TOS violation there?

We do not have to make a new system if the old one can support things like 0.5 keys.
There won't be a CS:GO key credit, but we will accept CS:GO key at about 1.08 key credit.

There are actually very few people who only spend 1-2 ref here. The old ref credit system was very underused because there are less people who trade TF2 items nowadays. And there are not many popular games at a price lower than $2.

Trading untradable game gifts may not violate Steam TOS. But it is almost certain that if a buyer has bought any revoked gifts he will not be able to get anything back from Steam.
